Job Description

Join Amazon's Hardware Engineering Services (HWEngS) Storage organization as a Senior Software Development Engineer on the Solid-State Drive (SSD) team. In this role, you'll lead the development of software automation projects that enhance the quality and performance of AWS storage infrastructure at scale.

You'll be responsible for architecting and implementing software services that automate critical workflows throughout the complete lifecycle of SSDs - from qualification and monitoring to diagnostics, firmware updates, and end-of-life management. The role requires strong technical leadership to establish software best practices, create detailed architecture and design documentation, and build scalable diagnostic tools for continuous monitoring.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in designing software services that can effectively automate manual processes. Given AWS's massive scale, you'll need to ensure all tools, tests, and infrastructure are future-proof, scalable, and highly stable. Success in this role requires a growth mindset, fast learning ability, skill in deep technical problem-solving, and a drive to quickly resolve customer issues.

You'll be part of the innovative AWS Hardware Engineering Services team that creates industry-leading server designs crucial to AWS's business and its million+ customers. The team focuses on developing frugal yet operationally excellent solutions to enable key AWS business strategies.

This position offers competitive compensation including base pay ranging from $151,300 to $261,500 depending on location, plus equity, sign-on bonuses, and comprehensive benefits. You'll work alongside talented engineers solving challenging technical problems while helping shape the future of AWS infrastructure.
