As a Sr. System Development Engineer in the HWEng Storage Drives team, you will:
- Lead and develop automation and infrastructure capabilities to improve OEM drive operational health, qualification, and integration across all AWS storage server platforms.
- Author requirements specifications, system design, and development, while testing at each phase.
- Focus on software test development and integration to enable storage hardware, and system debugging for production hosts.
- Work with engineers across the company to build next-generation storage servers.
- Have ownership for the implementation of your work and see direct product improvements based on the results.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop automation software spanning multiple teams and organizations.
- Design and build system-level software at scale, emphasizing durability, availability, security, and diagnostics.
- Troubleshoot device drivers for Linux on ARM and x86.
- Debug Linux boot and runtime problems on ARM and x86.
- Develop tools to perform testing on Linux-based systems.
- Build, manage, and deploy pipelines for rapid deployment of new code changes.
- Build monitoring tools and metrics to ensure hardware runs properly in test and production environments.
