Description For System Development Engineer II, Data Center Infrastructure Engineering (DCIE)

The Systems Development Engineer (SysDev) within Data Center Infrastructure Engineering (DCIE) is a critical role focused on developing automation, monitoring, and analytics solutions for Amazon's global IT infrastructure within Fulfillment Centers. This position combines software development expertise with infrastructure engineering to build scalable solutions that enhance reliability and efficiency.

The role involves creating custom automation tools, building APIs and microservices, implementing monitoring dashboards, and developing data analytics pipelines. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies to manage power systems, HVAC, and structured cabling infrastructure across Amazon's vast network of facilities.

As a SysDev, you'll collaborate with various teams including DCIE Engineers, TPMs, and DCIO Engineers to develop solutions that improve infrastructure standardization, predictive maintenance, and operational scalability. Your work will directly impact the reliability and efficiency of Amazon's global operations.

The ideal candidate brings strong software development skills, experience with infrastructure automation, and the ability to work with complex systems at scale. Responsibilities For System Development Engineer II, Data Center Infrastructure Engineering (DCIE)

  • Develop custom automation tools to manage and optimize power, HVAC, and structured cabling infrastructure
  • Build scalable APIs, microservices, and integration solutions
  • Create automated deployment frameworks for infrastructure components
  • Design and implement real-time dashboards for infrastructure monitoring
  • Develop data analytics pipelines for infrastructure telemetry
  • Automate incident detection, alerting, and response workflows
  • Support Sev1/Sev2 incident response
  • Develop and maintain OpenDCIM-based systems
