Description For Systems Development Engineer, AWS Fintech

Services Finance at Amazon seeks a motivated and autonomous System Development Engineer to deliver results to our customers. This hands-on position involves strategic planning, new system development, and customer support. The role requires delivering consistent, well-defined results in an agile systems development workflow, building reliable and scalable environments using AWS Products.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with customers to build high-availability, resilient, and fault-tolerant systems
  • Setting up AWS servers, networks, VPCs, load balancers, and other AWS services
  • Scaling AWS infrastructure globally
  • Improving network and data security
  • Optimizing backup/disaster recovery systems
  • Maintaining CDK (Cloud Development Kit)
  • Implementing efficiency-improving solutions
  • Supporting enterprise system integration and migration
  • Maintaining and optimizing existing AWS infrastructure
  • Managing OLAP multi-dimensional cubes, dimension management, metadata design, and ETL development

The ideal candidate will be highly analytical with a passion for analytics and accountability. They should be able to set high standards and maintain razor-sharp accuracy. The team values hard work, fun, and making history.

Basic qualifications:

  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 1+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems
  • 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands-on systems engineering
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals
  • Programming experience with at least one modern language (C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build processes
  • Agile/Scrum methodology experience
  • AWS cloud solutions experience in a DevOps environment
  • Database systems and SQL knowledge
  • Experience with OLAP tools (IBM Planning Analytics, Essbase, Apache Kylin, Microsoft Analysis Services)

Amazon offers a competitive compensation package, including equity and a range of benefits. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300 to $201,200 per year, depending on the geographic market and other factors.
