Description For Circuit Design & Analysis Engineer, Annapurna Labs, Cloud Scale Machine Learning

AWS Utility Computing (UC) is at the forefront of cloud innovation, providing foundational services like Amazon S3 and EC2. Within UC, the Machine Learning Acceleration (MLA) team develops cutting-edge Inferentia and Trainium SOCs that power AI workloads in datacenters worldwide.

As a Circuit Design & Analysis Engineer at Annapurna Labs, you'll be instrumental in driving improvements in silicon yield & performance. This role combines expertise in custom circuit design & analysis with system-level thermal & power analysis, requiring a proven track record of handling challenges at scale.

You'll work directly with product engineers, signal & power integrity engineers, and physical design experts to define best practices, drive correlation of pre-silicon simulation to post-silicon analysis, and develop custom circuits for state-of-the-art machine learning hardware.

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing custom cells/IP, developing characterization flows, owning integration & post-silicon qualification of critical IPs (PLL, PCIE, UCIE, HBM, sensors/monitors), and automating analysis workflows. You'll also develop test plans and perform lab measurements to correlate with simulation data.

The role offers exciting opportunities to:

  • Evaluate third-party IPs like sensors and process monitors
  • Develop and characterize custom IPs for specialized operations
  • Collaborate with designers and architects to identify areas where custom solutions can improve PPAS
  • Conduct post-silicon quality checks for key IPs
  • Perform detailed power measurements and correlate with simulation results

AWS values work-life harmony and fosters an inclusive culture through employee-led affinity groups. You'll find endless knowledge-sharing opportunities, mentorship, and career-advancing resources to help you develop as a professional. We welcome candidates with diverse experiences, whether your career is just starting or has followed a non-traditional path.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $129,800 to $212,800 per year, based on geographic location, plus equity and comprehensive benefits. Join us in shaping the future of cloud computing and machine learning acceleration!
