Description For Esri ArcGIS Developer

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is seeking a technical GIS developer to join their Enterprise GIS Team within the Office of IT Applications. This role focuses on configuring and developing custom Esri ArcGIS Enterprise applications that integrate with SharePoint, various databases, and enterprise reporting systems. The position involves working with a team of 2 ArcGIS developers, 2 System Administrators, a data manager, and team leader, supporting over 180 ArcGIS Desktop users and approximately 60,000 annual ArcGIS Server web visits.

The role requires expertise in developing GIS applications using Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, JavaScript API, and related technologies. You'll be responsible for creating and maintaining applications that support GIS portal, feature mapping, project planning, emergency operations, permitting, safety, and traffic records. Working in a collaborative environment, you'll interact with various IT teams, management, and business units while following internal SDLC standards and best practices. The initial contract runs through the fiscal year with anticipated renewal in July 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for a GIS developer looking to make an impact in transportation infrastructure while working with modern mapping and geospatial technologies.

The role offers a structured work environment with fixed 8-hour workdays, 13 holidays, and the potential for long-term engagement through contract renewals.
