The Battery Manufacturing Test Engineering (BMTE) group within the Battery Management Systems organization at Apple is seeking a Battery Manufacturing Test Engineer. This role is critical in creating and introducing new battery designs into high-volume manufacturing for Apple's world-class devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop end-to-end testing strategies and continuously improve manufacturing test processes
- Design manufacturing test processes from SMT through systems integration at FATP
- Implement test best practices and drive development of test and tester
- Collaborate with contract test vendors to ensure manufacturing equipment meets metrology requirements
- Own testing specifications for complete test coverage of design specifications
- Identify manufacturing trends and future manufacturing capabilities
- Specify tests, compile data, and compare against design specifications using DOE and Six Sigma principles
- Establish strong FA processes at vendor sites for ORT, NPI, and field returns

Required Qualifications:
- BS in engineering field
- 5 years of experience in design and manufacturing
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS in engineering field
- Previous electronics design experience
- Experience with HW manufacturing processes
- Experience working with international contract manufacturers
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Self-starter with excellent time management skills
- Ability to work independently under pressure in a dynamic environment
