Description For Commercial & Strategy Manager (CSM) - Mechanical Enclosures

Apple's Commercial and Strategy Management (CSM) team, part of the Manufacturing Design Organization, is seeking a Commercial & Strategy Manager for Mechanical Enclosures. This role is responsible for commercial strategy, negotiations, and cost management for mechanical enclosure components across Apple's products. The CSM team enables new product features at lower costs while driving competition in the supply chain.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing near and long-term strategies for cost discussions with manufacturing partners
  • Collaborating with Global Supply Managers, Operations, and Engineering teams
  • Creating unique deals to lower costs across multiple product lines
  • Developing quarterly negotiation proposals
  • Analyzing cost models to improve operational efficiency
  • Presenting cost roadmaps and updates to executives
  • Helping develop long-term supplier roadmaps

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain development, sourcing management, and cost negotiation
  • BSME or BSIE (MBA a plus)
  • Outstanding analytical and negotiation skills
  • Ability to balance strategic and detail-oriented thinking
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience working in multinational environments
  • Mechanical and/or technical acumen

  • Maximize analytical, financial, and negotiation skills for near and long-term strategies
  • Work with Global Supply Managers, Operations, and Engineering teams
  • Strategize and develop creative deals to lower costs across multiple lines of business
  • Develop quarterly negotiation proposals
  • Analyze detailed should-cost and bottoms-up cost models
  • Develop and present internal cost roadmaps and updates
  • Help develop long-term supplier roadmap

Requirements For Commercial & Strategy Manager (CSM) - Mechanical Enclosures

  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain development, sourcing management and cost negotiation
  • BSME or BSIE, or equivalent. MBA a plus
  • Outstanding analytical/negotiation skills
  • Ability to toggle between strategic and detail oriented thinking
  • Tenacious problem solving & issue resolution skills
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence across multiple functional teams
  • Flexibility to adapt to dynamic and rapidly changing environments
  • Excellent communicators, capable of working in multinational environments
  • Mechanical and/or prior technical acumen
