Estimation Scientist

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Estimation Scientist to join our team at Apple. This role is part of the Software and Services division, focusing on developing cutting-edge spatial awareness experiences using technologies like Ultra-Wideband (UWB), WiFi, and Bluetooth.

As an Estimation Scientist, you will:

• Work on innovative projects like AirTag precision finding, Handoff, and digital car keys
• Develop and prototype technologies for relative location and spatial awareness across Apple devices
• Collaborate with world-class engineers and scientists to solve exciting problems in location technology
• Apply your expertise in estimation, ranging, and localization to create new features
• Utilize your strong background in mathematics, geometry, and statistics
• Contribute to the development of next-generation spatial awareness experiences

The ideal candidate will have:

• Deep understanding of estimation techniques, especially for ranging and localization
• Strong software development skills in C++, Matlab/Python
• Knowledge of distance/location techniques like phase estimation, TOA, RTT, AOA, and TDOA
• Passion for learning new skills and technologies
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
• Attention to detail and focus on customer experience
