Description For Game Engineer, Platform Architecture

Apple is seeking a Game Engineer to join their Platform Architecture team in Beaverton, Oregon. This role is perfect for passionate game developers with experience in AAA games and custom game engines.

As a Game Engineer on the Tools & Technology team, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining Apple's proprietary cross-platform game engine. You'll work with a small multi-disciplinary team of veteran game developers, focusing on architectural design, implementation, debugging, and optimization of systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to Apple's proprietary game engine
  • Implementing systems to showcase Apple platform capabilities
  • Evaluating current and upcoming games
  • Researching and implementing state-of-the-art game systems
  • Collaborating with art and design disciplines
  • Working closely with other Apple teams

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in C/C++ programming, strong 3D math skills, and deep knowledge of game technologies including animation, AI, physics, and graphics. With 10+ years of industry experience preferred, you'll be working on cutting-edge game technology while contributing to Apple's gaming ecosystem.
