MDM Operations Engineer, Retail Engineering

Apple is looking for an excellent MDM Operations Engineer to support and secure their rapidly growing MDM platform for Retail devices worldwide. This role is key in supporting and assisting in the deployment and expansion of systems using MDM, as well as the development and maintenance of supporting tools and applications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in macOS and iOS operating systems, experience with MDM protocols, strong scripting skills (Python and shell preferred), and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex OS, network, and application issues. The role requires a dedicated individual who can research and suggest the latest technologies, independently solve technical issues, and work effectively with teams of developers, engineering project managers, test engineers, and end users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and secure the MDM platform for Apple Retail devices worldwide
• Assist in the deployment and expansion of systems using MDM
• Develop and maintain supporting tools and applications
• Troubleshoot complex OS, network, and application issues
• Provide end-user support and conduct root cause analysis
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams

Required Qualifications:

• Expertise in macOS and iOS operating systems
• Experience with MDM and MDM protocols, focusing on macOS and iOS
• Strong scripting skills, particularly in Python and shell
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Experience in a production support role
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• In-depth JAMF Pro experience with large scale deployments
• JAMF Pro certification
• Familiarity with continuous delivery systems and GIT
• Experience with Apple Retail systems and operations
• Knowledge of peripheral device management (printers, scanners)
• Detail-oriented with data analysis skills
