Description For Operational Technology Engineer, Data Center

Apple's Data Center Engineering team is seeking an Operational Technology (OT) Engineer to join their innovative team in Prineville, Oregon. This role combines the challenges of data center operations with cutting-edge technology implementation, offering a unique opportunity to work with critical infrastructure at one of the world's most influential tech companies.

As an OT Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Data Center Operating Technology systems, while ensuring seamless integration with enterprise IT systems. You'll work with state-of-the-art equipment and protocols, including Schweitzer protective relays, Schneider Electric power meters, and various communication protocols such as MQTT, OPC UA, and BacNet.

The ideal candidate brings at least 2 years of experience in data center facility networks and OT, with a strong background in cybersecurity and system integration. You'll be part of a team that values innovation, reliability, and excellence in engineering, working on projects that directly impact Apple's global infrastructure.

Responsibilities For Operational Technology Engineer, Data Center

  • Design of data center facility networks and OT, including system architectures and facilities network diagrams
  • Development of OT device specifications, device selection, testing, approval and integration
  • Coordinate with information security teams to implement Cyber Security measures for OT
  • Design and maintain device universal data templates
  • Provide configuration, programming and commissioning of the systems
  • Troubleshooting of network and systems issues
  • Enforce Apple's Data management and Governance policies
  • Coordinate with internal IT teams for data exchange between OT and IT
  • Provide training to Operations personnel
  • Follow Industry and Apple's Safety requirements

Requirements For Operational Technology Engineer, Data Center

  • Experience with OT devices and management
