Product Design Engineer - Intern

Apple is looking for a Product Design Engineer Intern to be part of Apple's Product Design Group in Shanghai or Shenzhen, China. The role requires passion for engineering and innovation, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under demanding schedules across a large cross-functional team. The ideal candidate should be able to deliver solid design solutions while balancing multiple priorities and work closely with suppliers. The position demands comfort in applying scientific methods to solve complex problems.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Enrolled in Bachelors/Masters/PhD studies in Mechanical engineering or related field
• Good English communication skills (written and verbal)
• Engineering fundamentals: statics, strength of materials, material science
• Flexible in traveling up to 50%

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic design skills: tolerances analysis, DFA, DFM, fixture design, SPC, metrology
• Mechanical intuition, creative problem solving, spatial reasoning
• 3D CAD experience (NX preferred)
• Experience in design cycle from concept through manufacturing
• Experience in designing mechanical components for high volume manufacturing
• Team work experience with Contract Manufacturing Partners
