Description For RF Cellular Transceiver Validation Engineer

As an RFIC validation engineer at Apple, you will be responsible for crafting, developing, and testing cellular SoCs to ensure they implement designs to their specifications. This role involves understanding design specifications and schematics, and using specialized test platforms to validate accurate operations of RFICs. You will work with scripting languages and embedded firmware to confirm functionality and evaluate the performance of RF Cellular SoCs.

You will be part of Apple's growing cellular wireless design team, focusing on highly integrated RF cellular SoCs in advanced technology nodes. The team is responsible for all aspects of cellular transceiver silicon development, emphasizing highly integrated and efficient designs that transform the user experience at the product level.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Bringing up and testing RFICs
  • Performing system bring-up, characterization, and optimization
  • Conducting end-to-end mmWave RF measurements and block-level debugging
  • Automating bench measurements using tools and scripting languages like Python
  • Collaborating with IC Design, RF Systems, Firmware, and Hardware teams
  • Problem-solving and debugging, especially in mmWave technology

Responsibilities For RF Cellular Transceiver Validation Engineer

  • Craft, develop, and test cellular SoCs to implement designs to their specification
  • Understand design specifications and schematics
  • Use specialized test platforms to validate accurate operations of RFICs
  • Work with scripting languages and embedded firmware to confirm functionality and evaluate performance of RF Cellular SoCs

Requirements For RF Cellular Transceiver Validation Engineer

Python
  • Experience with bringing up and testing RFIC, performing system bring up, characterization and optimization
  • Experience in end-to-end mmWave RF measurements, as well as block level debugging such as LNAs, Mixers, Amplifiers, PLLs, VCOs, ADCs, DACs and DSP blocks
  • Bench Automation experience and proficiency with measurement automation tools and scripting languages, such as Python
  • Experience with lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, phase noise analyzers, oscilloscopes etc
  • Proven verification skills in problem-solving and debugging, especially in mmWave technology
  • BS and 3+ years of relevant industry experience required
