Senior Engineering Manager - Apple Services Traffic

Apple is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead multiple teams working in the Traffic space for Apple Service Engineering. This role involves leading and growing engineering and research initiatives to build Traffic systems at Apple Scale. The successful candidate will lead high-performing teams to align, architect, drive, and build solutions supporting Apple Cloud Engineering efforts.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading multiple teams of highly-skilled engineers in delivering traffic management solutions
• Defining and executing on a prioritized roadmap
• Fostering a collaborative, accountable, and creative environment
• Developing team processes, values, and culture
• Providing technical leadership and mentorship
• Driving adoption of solutions across ASE and beyond

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 7+ years of management experience in software engineering
• 12+ years of software development experience in highly scalable distributed services
• Deep understanding of traffic management at scale for HTTP and gRPC APIs
• Strong experience with modern containerization platforms like Kubernetes
• Exposure to end-to-end routing of traffic in complex ecosystems

Preferred qualifications include experience with Java or Go, hands-on experience with Layer-7 traffic proxying, experience with multiple cloud-native environments, and strong communication skills.

This role offers a competitive base pay range between $219,300 and $378,700, along with additional benefits such as stock options, comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, and educational reimbursement opportunities.
