Description For Touch Sensing FEA Engineer

Apple is seeking a talented Touch Sensing FEA Engineer to join their Hardware team in driving innovative sensing technology development. As a Touch Sensing FEA Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting complex structural, thermal, and dynamic analysis of sensing technology. The position requires expertise in finite element analysis (FEA) and the ability to generate and analyze models of mechanical parts, modules, and assemblies. You'll work with cutting-edge technology and be involved in early optimization of designs prior to prototyping.

The role offers a comprehensive compensation package, including a competitive base salary range of $175,800 to $312,200, plus additional benefits such as stock options, medical coverage, and educational reimbursement. You'll be working with state-of-the-art tools and technologies, including Abaqus, ANSYS, COMSOL, Matlab, and Python.

Key responsibilities include owning and driving material characterization and testing, building innovative methods for analyzing complex phenomena, and coordinating with other analysts to integrate module models into larger system assemblies. You'll also be involved in failure analysis, root cause efforts, and design of experiments.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of relevant industry experience, strong expertise in advanced finite element analysis, and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities For Touch Sensing FEA Engineer

  • Generate finite element models/analytical models of mechanical parts, modules, and assemblies
  • Perform static, dynamic, structural, and thermal-mechanical analysis
  • Own and drive material characterization and testing to support modeling efforts
  • Build innovative methods for analyzing behavior of difficult to observe and measure phenomenon
  • Own, drive, and complete consistent methods of modeling and analysis of modules across programs
  • Coordinate and work with other analysts to integrate module models into larger system assemblies
  • Communicate and report analysis results to team and management
  • Drive failure analysis, root cause efforts, and design of experiments

Requirements For Touch Sensing FEA Engineer

Python
  • BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
  • Experience in advanced finite element analysis (FEA)
  • Proficient in Abaqus, ANSYS, COMSOL, or other FEA tool
  • Structural and thermal-mechanical analysis focus
  • Knowledge of material testing and modeling
  • Proficient in Matlab and Python scripting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
