Job Description

Aptiv, a global leader in automotive technology, is seeking an Electrical Engineer for their Signal & Power Solutions segment's Connection Systems business unit. This role, based in either Troy, MI or Champion, OH, focuses on designing and developing electronic products for the Consumer Connectivity portfolio. The position involves working with advanced automotive electronics, including switch mode power supplies, inverters, LVDS transceivers, HDMI receivers, and various communication protocols.

The ideal candidate will collaborate directly with automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, developing products that meet stringent customer requirements. Key responsibilities include creating product schematics, overseeing PCB layouts, and managing design validation processes. The role requires expertise in embedded systems, analog/digital design, and automotive compliance standards.

Responsibilities For Electrical Engineer

  • Work with automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to design products meeting customer requirements
  • Develop product schematics and oversee PCB layouts
  • Complete peer reviews and create engineering change documentation
  • Develop new circuit building blocks and evaluate components
  • Work with supply chain for BOM cost analysis
  • Manage design validation plan execution
  • Perform simulations and systematic design analysis
  • Conduct bench level debugging and testing
  • Support cross-functional teams including software, mechanical, and systems engineering

Requirements For Electrical Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 1-4 years relevant electronics design experience
  • Experience with embedded microcontroller design
  • Knowledge of analog/digital design and simulation
  • Experience with RFI, EMI and ESD compliance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to travel as required
