Description For Staff Software Engineer, Continuous Integration

Asana is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Continuous Integration to join their Infrastructure team. This role involves building and operating software that enables Asana's security, scalability, and speed. The ideal candidate will be passionate about test infrastructure and continuous integration, responsible for improving Asana's testing workflows and implementing changes that impact automated testing and engineer experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and guiding technical design and architecture for the Test Infrastructure team
  • Designing, building, and operating CI and build systems
  • Mentoring and upleveling team engineers
  • Contributing to a test infrastructure vision for a growing, global-scale engineering team
  • Partnering with developer productivity and infrastructure teams to set direction

The role requires:

  • 6+ years of full-time professional software development experience
  • 4+ years working on distributed systems or infrastructure
  • Passion for developer productivity
  • Focus on building reliable, scalable, and performant systems
  • Familiarity with infrastructure, Python, AWS, and JavaScript/TypeScript

Asana offers a comprehensive compensation package, including a base salary range of $248,000 - $316,000, equity, and benefits such as mental health support, career coaching, and long-term savings plans. The role is based in San Francisco with a hybrid work schedule (in-office Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday).
