Software Developer In Test

Ashby is seeking a Software Developer In Test (SDET) to join their Engineering team, reporting directly to the QA lead. This role represents a unique opportunity to shape the testing infrastructure of a growing enterprise SaaS platform that's revolutionizing talent acquisition processes.

The position is deeply technical, requiring hands-on coding experience and system design expertise. As the first dedicated automation hire, you'll be instrumental in building and maintaining end-to-end tests, contributing to test infrastructure, and creating efficient feedback loops. The role goes beyond simple test execution – you'll be architecting systems that other engineers want to use while simplifying existing processes.

Ashby's approach to QA is unique, viewing it as an integral part of the system rather than an additional layer. The ideal candidate will share this philosophy, focusing on building QA infrastructure that generates fast, reliable feedback and catches meaningful issues before they reach production. You'll be working with TypeScript, React, Node.js, Postgres, and Redis, with a particular emphasis on TypeScript and Playwright for testing.
