Atomos Systems is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to join their engineering team in Boulder, CO. This role focuses on developing custom actuators and components for their robotic systems. The position requires a blend of mechanical, electrical, and control systems expertise. You'll be responsible for designing and prototyping actuators, collaborating across engineering disciplines, conducting simulations, and performing rigorous testing. The role offers competitive compensation between $100K-$200K plus equity. The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials in mechatronics or related fields, practical experience with embedded systems and prototyping, and excellent collaborative skills. Responsibilities For Mechatronics Engineer
- Design, prototype, and refine custom actuators for robot system
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers for system integration
- Utilize modeling and simulation tools to optimize actuator behavior
- Plan and conduct experiments on prototype actuators
- Gather data and iteratively refine designs
Requirements For Mechatronics Engineer
- Bachelor's or Master's in Mechatronics, Robotics, EE or equivalent experience
- Experience with motor drivers, embedded systems, and sensor interfaces
- Hands-on prototyping skills (building test rigs, soldering, microcontroller programming)
- Strong knowledge of control theory (e.g., PID, feedforward control)
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills
