Software Engineer II A - GBS IND

Bank of America is seeking a Software Engineer II for their Global Business Services division in Chennai. This role is part of the Global Markets Technology & Operations team, providing end-to-end technology solutions for Markets business including Equity, Prime Brokerage, Interest Rates, Currencies, Commodities, Derivatives and Structured Products.

The position involves working with business and technology teams to develop and maintain critical financial systems. You'll be responsible for gathering requirements, analyzing business needs, and developing solutions that support the Markets business operations. The role requires strong technical skills combined with business domain knowledge in financial markets.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and maintaining technology solutions for Markets business
• Gathering and analyzing functional and non-functional requirements
• Translating business requirements into system requirements
• Supporting user acceptance testing activities
• Working with various business partners including Technology, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Operations and Finance

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or MBA
• 6-8+ years of experience with 3+ years in Global Markets
• Strong understanding of financial markets, derivatives & structured notes
• Experience in business analysis and strategic planning
• Python/Alteryx/Tableau knowledge is preferred
• Strong analytical and communication skills
