They're seeking a Software Configuration Management Engineer to join their team in a crucial role focused on managing software life cycle data and records for aircraft certification.

The position involves working cross-functionally with Airworthiness, Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to maintain traceability and auditability of software data. The role is central to obtaining and maintaining FAA Certification for aircraft production and operation.

As a Software Configuration Management Engineer, you'll be responsible for defining and implementing configuration management processes, training team members, coordinating software changes, and chairing the Software Change Control Board. The role requires expertise in software change management, familiarity with aerospace standards like DO-178C, and experience with version control systems.

This is a contractor position offering competitive compensation ($75-$100/hour) and requires on-site presence in either Montreal, Burlington, or Raleigh. The position demands 45-50 hours per week with a minimum one-year commitment and possible extension.

Responsibilities For Software Configuration Management Engineer - Contractor

  • Define configuration management processes for software life cycle data in compliance with DO-178C
  • Train users in managing software life cycle data and records
  • Coordinate and track changes to software life cycle data
  • Chair the Software Change Control Board (SCCB)
  • Ensure correct software loading for production

  • Support and train users in software life cycle processes and systems

Requirements For Software Configuration Management Engineer - Contractor

  • Deep knowledge of software change management processes
  • Familiarity with DO-178C, SAE AS9100D and SAE AS9115A
  • 5+ years of experience or BS degree in computer science and 2 years in aerospace
  • Requirements, Test, and Change Management software experience
  • Experience with Version control software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High energy, self-motivated, organized and detail oriented
