Senior Software Engineer, Python (Blockchain)

Bitpanda, founded in 2014 in Vienna, Austria, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Python (Blockchain) to join their Blockchain team. This role is crucial for integrating and maintaining Crypto Nodes and services that interact with various parts of the Crypto ecosystem. The ideal candidate will develop clean, scalable, and maintainable solutions for high-performance backend systems in Python, build event-driven architecture hosted on AWS with Kafka, and collaborate with highly skilled engineers across various squads.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working directly on integrating and maintaining Crypto Nodes and services
• Developing backend systems in Python
• Building event-driven architecture on AWS with Kafka
• Collaborating with engineering squads and discussing challenges

The ideal candidate should have:

• Strong Python and RestAPI knowledge
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases
• Enthusiasm for the cryptocurrency industry and blockchain technology
• Solid understanding of event-driven systems design
• Familiarity with AWS Services, trading/markets, DevOps infrastructure, or Web3 (bonus)
