Description For Footwear Innovation Developer I

At Brooks, we believe movement is the key to feeling more alive. We're seeking a Footwear Innovation Developer I to join our world-class innovation team in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This role is crucial in shaping the future of running footwear through product, experiential, and biomechanical innovation.

As a Footwear Innovation Developer I, you'll:

  • Collaborate with the Footwear Innovation team to investigate new technologies, explore designs, and implement manufacturing processes.
  • Drive research, sample material acquisition, prototype building, concept validation, and factory collaboration.
  • Work with a global, cross-functional product creation team from insights to commercialization.
  • Partner with strategic partners to cultivate new ideas and deliver groundbreaking products.
  • Develop technical footwear expertise under the guidance of senior team members.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participating in innovation projects from Portfolio Review to Commercialization.
  • Assisting in project development plans and schedules.
  • Managing prototyping, testing, and validation of concepts.
  • Partnering with various teams to ensure products exceed runner expectations.
  • Building technical knowledge to act as a consultant on materials and construction decisions.
  • Participating in development trips to work with manufacturers and suppliers.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience managing high-performance footwear development projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree in English Language, Engineering, Design, Biomechanics, or related field.
  • Strong technical knowledge in footwear development and construction processes.
  • Experience with sustainable materials and post-consumer strategies is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Keynote, and MS Office
  • Experience with Illustrator
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
