Description For Lead Software/Hardware Engineer

CAE is a worldwide leader in defense, security, civil aviation, and healthcare training solutions. This Lead Software/Hardware Engineer position is based in Arlington, TX, focusing on flight simulation technology. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering work in the Integration Specialist group. You'll lead a team while working with cutting-edge simulation technologies, real-time systems, and distributed computing architectures.

The position requires strong technical expertise in computer architectures, real-time operating systems, and simulation systems, combined with leadership abilities to manage and develop team members. You'll be responsible for project execution, technical direction, and ensuring high customer satisfaction across multiple programs.

Responsibilities For Lead Software/Hardware Engineer

  • Lead a team of Integration Specialists
  • Assign and monitor project tasks using SAFe methodology
  • Review project budgets and technical approaches
  • Provide technical leadership and direction
  • Review and enforce company policies and standards
  • Conduct performance assessments and develop training plans
  • Provide technical writing and cost estimates for proposals
  • Oversee employee development and training
  • Fill in as Integration Specialist when needed

Requirements For Lead Software/Hardware Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Minimum 5 years experience in flight simulation or related industry
  • Experience with cost estimating, budgeting/scheduling, and task performance management
  • Understanding of computer software and architectures used in flight simulation
  • Knowledge of real-time operating systems and distributed computational systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
