Description For Manufacturing Engineer

Carfair Composites, a leader in fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) design and composites technology, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. This role involves supporting all Manufacturing engineering activities and analysis at the assigned Carfair site. The successful candidate will lead and support projects to improve production indices, HSE initiatives, quality, and service.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting all aspects of manufacturing Engineering, including analysis, costing, forecasts, and project management.
  2. Providing technical support to manufacturing processes and identifying improvement opportunities.
  3. Leading projects to enhance production indices, HSE initiatives, product quality, and service.
  4. Collaborating with Lean resources, maintenance, production, and quality teams to achieve targets.
  5. Working with suppliers and inspectors on capital projects and facility modifications.
  6. Participating in lean manufacturing initiatives and promoting continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • An Engineering degree/diploma or related courses and work experience
  • Lean certification or equivalent work experience (recommended)
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and conducting presentations
  • Blueprint reading skills

Responsibilities For Manufacturing Engineer

  • Support all aspects of manufacturing Engineering including performing analysis, costing, forecasts, project management, quoting, CAF development and justification, presentation preparation
  • Review and provide technical support to manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Lead/support projects and activities to improve production indices, HSE initiatives, product quality and service
  • Work with Lean resources, maintenance, production, and quality to achieve targets
  • Work with suppliers/inspectors on capital projects, facility modifications, code compliance issues
  • Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Promote an environment of continuous improvement and teamwork
  • Remain current with relevant industry and production technologies

Requirements For Manufacturing Engineer

  • Engineering degree/diploma and/or related courses & work experience
  • Lean certification or applicable equivalent work experience recommended
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience working as an effective team player
  • Proficiency in MS Office and conducting presentations
  • Blueprint reading skills
