Responsibilities For Senior Perception Engineer
- Explore and integrate new sensors, particularly cameras, to improve robot perception
- Develop and optimize perception models using classical and deep learning techniques
- Calibrate cameras and refine sensor alignment
- Work on ML infrastructure, including data collection, annotation, and model training pipelines
- Implement sensor fusion techniques
- Develop tracking algorithms
- Manipulate 3D geometry, including point cloud processing
- Scale and refine the perception infrastructure
- Collaborate with robotics team on platform modernization
- Develop new perception models for expanding customer needs
Requirements For Senior Perception Engineer
- BS, MS, or PhD in computer science, robotics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field
- Experience shipping perception systems in production environments
- 5+ years of research and industry experience in machine/deep learning and computer vision
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow)
- Expertise in ROS (Robot Operating System)
- Strong software development skills
- Deep familiarity with classical and deep learning approaches in CV and 3D perception
- Experience with dataset building and evaluation
- Understanding of tradeoffs between modeling, data, hardware, and latency
- Comfort with sensor hardware, calibration, and field validation
