This senior-level position requires 10-15 years of experience and involves leading the development of innovative digital solutions through Microsoft Azure and common back-end frameworks. The role combines technical leadership with mentoring responsibilities, focusing on designing and developing scalable API solutions that power Chevron's global operations.

Responsibilities For Lead API Developer

  • Lead a large team of junior and senior software developers in technical requirements analysis and development
  • Mentor junior and senior software developers
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain application back ends and APIs using Microsoft Azure
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for requirements gathering
  • Optimize APIs and backends for performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Design and manage relational database schemas
  • Troubleshoot and resolve API issues
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Document API processes and configurations

Requirements For Lead API Developer

Python
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in C#, .NET, RESTful APIs
  • Basic proficiency in Python scripting and automation
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Knowledge of software design patterns
  • Experience with automated testing (preferred)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments (preferred)
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (preferred)
