Description For Software Engineer II, Power Platform

CIBC, a leading financial institution with over 44,000 employees, is seeking a Software Engineer II specializing in Power Platform applications for their US Risk Technology team. This role represents an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of developing next-generation risk management tools that will transform CIBC's capabilities and support the bank's growth trajectory.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement in Chicago, requiring at least two days of on-site presence per week. With a competitive salary range of $92,100-$115,400, plus comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and various insurance options, this role provides both professional growth and financial security.

As a Software Engineer II, you'll be responsible for the full software development lifecycle, working extensively with Microsoft Power Platform tools including Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, and Data Verse. The role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, requiring both technical expertise and strong communication skills to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

The ideal candidate brings at least one year of Power Platform development experience, complemented by a relevant post-secondary degree. While the role primarily focuses on Microsoft technologies, experience with languages like Java, C#, or Python is valued. Knowledge of banking fundamentals, particularly in risk management and regulatory compliance, sets candidates apart.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with modern technologies in a forward-thinking financial institution. You'll be part of a collaborative team environment that values trust, teamwork, and accountability, with opportunities for continuous learning and professional development. CIBC's commitment to innovation in financial services, combined with their employee-focused culture and comprehensive benefits package, makes this an attractive opportunity for a mid-level software engineer looking to make an impact in the financial technology sector.
