Job Description

Circ is seeking a motivated Textile Product Development Engineer to drive material and product development in sustainable textile applications. This role involves cultivating strong relationships with textile mills, overseeing circular textile initiatives, and facilitating onboarding of manufacturing partners to deliver sustainable textiles to brands. The engineer will perform research, testing, data gathering, and analysis in office, laboratory, or manufacturing environments to support Circ's material and product development functions. They will coordinate R&D efforts in testing and characterizing materials, interpret results, and troubleshoot quality and development issues. This hands-on, interdisciplinary role requires curiosity and flexibility to work across various disciplines in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities: • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with textile mills • Oversee circular textile initiatives • Facilitate onboarding of manufacturing partners • Perform research, testing, data gathering, and analysis • Coordinate R&D efforts in material testing and characterization • Interpret results of physical testing and evaluation • Investigate and resolve work-in-process problems and operating variances

Qualifications: • BS or MSc degree in textile engineering, materials science, chemistry, or engineering • Strong understanding of textile manufacturing processes • Experience with polyester fibers and man-made cellulosic fibers • Familiarity with weaving, knitting, and other fabric construction techniques (preferred) • Experience in characterizing materials and performance using design of experiments methodology • Proven project management capabilities in R&D product development • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills • Willingness to travel frequently and adapt to diverse cultural environments

Responsibilities For Textile Product Development Engineer

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with textile mills, overseeing circular textile initiatives and facilitating onboarding of manufacturing partners to deliver sustainable textiles to brands
  • Perform research, testing, data gathering and analysis in an office, laboratory or manufacturing environment to support Circ material & product development functions
  • Coordinate research and development efforts in the testing and characterization of materials and interpret the results of physical testing and evaluation of raw materials and finished products
  • A hands-on interdisciplinary development role that will require curiosity and flexibility to work across a wide range of disciplines in a collaborative environment
  • Investigate and resolve work-in-process problems and daily operating variances, troubleshooting for resolution of material quality and product development issues

Requirements For Textile Product Development Engineer

  • BS or MSc degree in textile engineering, materials science, chemistry or engineering
  • Strong understanding of textile manufacturing processes
  • Experience with both polyester fibers and man-made cellulosic fibers. Familiarity with weaving, knitting and other fabric construction techniques is a plus
  • Experience characterizing materials and performance using design of experiments methodology
  • Proven capability of project management in R&D product development
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel frequently and adapt to diverse cultural environments
