Description For Technical Consulting Engineer - Webex Calling

Cisco is seeking a Technical Consulting Engineer for Webex Calling to join their team in Tokyo, Japan. This role focuses on resolving complex issues related to Webex Calling and Webex Contact Center. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collecting information, analyzing logs, building test environments, and coordinating with overseas product development teams to resolve issues
  • Serving as the final escalation point for technical matters in Japan
  • Analyzing call sequences and logs to identify problem areas in call connections
  • Troubleshooting cloud portal functions, SIP call flows, voice quality, network issues, firewalls, Internet connections, and SIP carrier peering
  • Proactively deepening technical knowledge and conducting technical seminars for customers
  • Contributing to work efficiency and automation tool improvements
  • Leading problem-solving initiatives to enhance team technical capabilities

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Business-level Japanese language skills
  • English proficiency (TOEIC 600 or equivalent)
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents in English
  • Critical and logical thinking skills for problem-solving
  • Negotiation skills with internal organizations and customers
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent knowledge
  • 3+ years of technical support experience, especially in VoIP or video conferencing systems
  • Experience in cloud (SaaS) and network technologies
  • Knowledge of VoIP, SIP, RTP, voice codecs, and DTMF
  • Linux system administration and network analysis skills
