Description For Sales Engineer - TOLA

Cloudian, a leading provider of enterprise object storage systems, is seeking a Sales Engineer to support sales efforts in the TOLA (Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas) sales territory. This role is crucial in demonstrating Cloudian's technical capabilities to prospects and sizing solutions based on customer needs.

As a Sales Engineer at Cloudian, you'll work closely with sales personnel to deliver product demonstrations, proofs of concept (PoCs), and technical presentations. Your responsibilities will include installation and upgrade services, customer support, end-user training, and contributing to marketing efforts through presentations, whitepapers, and social media engagement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations
  • Set up and manage customer PoCs
  • Provide installation, upgrade, and migration services
  • Deliver admin and management training to end-users
  • Contribute to Cloudian's knowledge base and product improvement
  • Engage in pre-sales and post-sales consultancy support for partners
  • Create solutions with technology partners

This role requires expertise in general storage solutions, Linux OS (CentOS/RedHat), IP networking, AWS S3 API, and object storage architecture. You'll be working with cutting-edge technology in the rapidly growing field of data management for hybrid cloud environments.

  • Deliver Cloudian Solution installation/upgrade/migration services to customers/partners
  • Provide support for customer issues in conjunction with the Support Team
  • Deliver end-user admin and management training
  • Deliver business/technical presentations at conferences/tradeshows/webinars
  • Author whitepapers for publication
  • Engage with PR activities
  • Utilize social media to spread the Cloudian brand
  • Contribute to Cloudian's Knowledge Base
  • Assist in product QA
  • Raise Jira cases to track product defects/feature requests
  • Provide staffing support at tradeshows

Requirements For Sales Engineer - TOLA

Linux
  • Technical expertise in understanding customer requirements and proposing Cloudian-based solutions
  • Ability to set up, support, and troubleshoot customer POCs
  • Experience in leading customer status calls
  • Proficiency in providing product demos, both in-person and remotely
  • Knowledge of general storage solutions including data protection, backup, archiving, DR, availability, and performance planning
  • Expertise in Linux OS (CentOS/RedHat)
  • Experience with IP networking, including DNS, Load Balancers, firewalls
  • Familiarity with AWS S3 API
  • Understanding of object storage architecture and deployment
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for time-sensitive engagements
