Description For Pre-sales Engineer

Cognite, a global SaaS leader in industrial digitalization, is seeking a Pre-sales Engineer to join their team in Germany. As a Pre-sales Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in helping clients understand and validate the capabilities of Cognite technology to deliver critical business value. You'll lead discovery workshops, demonstrate how Cognite Data Fusion and Applications solve critical challenges, and provide expert guidance to account teams. The role combines technical expertise, customer-facing capabilities, and business acumen.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting early discovery workshops to identify business needs and industry readiness
  • Explaining and demonstrating Cognite's solutions to solve critical challenges
  • Collaborating with end users and stakeholders for problem-solving workshops and RFI/RFQ evaluations
  • Cross-departmental collaboration to shape the direction of Cognite Data Fusion
  • Developing and supporting capable selling and delivery partners
  • Regular travel for on-site client engagements

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Master's/PhD degree in a relevant technical topic or similar role experience
  • Experience in Downstream and/or Process Industry
  • Strong interest in IoT, Machine Learning, and Digital Twins
  • Proven experience in demonstrating and leading technical validation programs
  • Ability to lead requirements and value definition workshops
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with both C-level stakeholders and engineers
