Description For Security Engineer

Cognite, a global SaaS leader in industrial digitalization, is seeking a Security Engineer to join their team in Austin, Texas. As part of the Aker family, Cognite is at the forefront of reshaping the future of Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, and Energy sectors through their cutting-edge Cognite Data Fusion (CDF) platform.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Information Security and will be responsible for designing and developing internal security tooling, monitoring CI/CD and cloud infrastructure, implementing vulnerability management processes, and providing security guidance across the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing internal security tooling and controls
  • Enabling developers to create, deploy, and operate secure cloud services
  • Monitoring and securing CI/CD and cloud infrastructure
  • Implementing efficient vulnerability management processes
  • Providing security guidance to key stakeholders
  • Implementing security controls to meet industry standards and regulations
  • Responding to security incidents

Required skills and knowledge:

  • Cloud security, supply chain security, and vulnerability management
  • Web security, network security, and applied cryptography
  • Cloud native technologies (kubernetes, containers, microservices)
  • Threat modeling and analysis
  • Programming and code review skills (Python experience is advantageous)
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

Requirements For Security Engineer

Python
Kubernetes
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Information Security
  • Knowledge of cloud security, supply chain security, and vulnerability management
  • Knowledge of web security, network security, and applied cryptography
  • Knowledge of cloud native technologies such as kubernetes, containers, microservices
  • Ability to conduct threat modeling
  • Ability to program and do code reviews (Python knowledge is an advantage)
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication skills
