As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll be part of a dynamic team creating innovative solutions that significantly impact critical industries. The position requires expertise in designing and implementing scalable data engineering solutions using Cognite Data Fusion®, working with technologies like Python, SQL, and Kubernetes. You'll be responsible for managing data integrations, creating custom data models, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including data scientists and solution architects.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience in data-intensive roles, with specific exposure to heavy asset industries. Your technical expertise should span production-grade data pipelines, distributed computing, and cloud services (GCP/Azure). A DevOps mindset and experience with modern development practices are essential.

Responsibilities For Senior Data Engineer
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable data engineering solutions using Cognite Data Fusion®
- Drive and manage integrations, extractions, data modeling, and analysis using Cognite data connectors and SQL, Python/Java and Rest APIs
- Create custom data models for data discovery, mapping, and cleansing
- Collaborate with data scientists, project managers and solution architects on project deliveries
- Conduct code reviews and implement best practices
- Support customers and partners in conducting data engineering tasks
- Contribute to the development of Cognite's official tools and SDKs
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management teams
Requirements For Senior Data Engineer
- Bachelor or Master degree in computer science or similar (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a customer-facing Data intense role
- Exposure to and experience from the heavy asset industry related to Oil & Gas, petrochemicals or energy
- Experience delivering production-grade data pipelines using Python, SQL and Rest APIs
- Experience with distributed computing such as Kubernetes and managed cloud services (GCP/Azure)
- DevOps mindset, and experience with Git, CI/CD, deployment environments
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Able to independently investigate and solve problems
- Humility to ask for help and enjoy sharing knowledge with others
