Conversant Group, an IT infrastructure and security consulting company based in Chattanooga, TN, is seeking an Active Directory & Entra ID Engineer to join their team. This role is crucial in designing, building, and maintaining complex, large-scale global identity directory services environments. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience with Entra ID, Active Directory, and related technologies.
As an AD & Entra ID Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing and maintaining Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, implementing identity provisioning, governance, SSO, MFA, and Conditional Access Policies. You'll work on enterprise application provisioning, manage risky user/sign-in scenarios, and support the company's Entra ID strategy and roadmaps.
Key responsibilities include enhancing corporate security, supporting critical IAM processes, troubleshooting AD and Entra ID issues, creating system documentation, and proactively identifying and mitigating security threats. You'll collaborate with diverse global teams, mentor colleagues, and contribute to security incident responses.
The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in computer science or related field (or equivalent experience), strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a self-motivated attitude towards learning and innovation. Experience with PowerShell scripting and a mindset for automating IT solutions is essential.

Responsibilities For Active Directory & Entra ID Engineer
- Manage and Maintain Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
- Identity provisioning, governance, SSO, MFA, and Conditional Access Policies
- Manage Risky User / Risky Sign in
- Enterprise Application provisioning - SSO
- Single Sign-On technologies such as Okta, Ping, DUO
- Support and help build the Entra ID strategy and roadmaps
- Enhance the security of corporate environment
- Analyze, design, and support enterprise level Active Directory in hybrid environment
- Implement, execute, and support critical IAM processes
- Manage and troubleshoot all aspects of Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Create and maintain system documentation
- Proactively identify potential threats and security events
- Participate in security incident response
- Work with internal teams to remediate security findings and implement access controls
- Provide ongoing operational support
- Identify and implement opportunities for technology, automation, and security enhancements
- Create, modify, and execute PowerShell scripts
- Mentor and cross-train team members
- Collaborate with globally diverse teams across different time zones
Requirements For Active Directory & Entra ID Engineer
- 6+ years experience with Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, AWS, Conditional Access Policy management, MFA, SSO
- Previous success with Identity and Access Management and Governance processes and projects
- B.S. degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, or 4 years IT work experience
- Hands-on experience with Azure Single Sign-On integrations, AD, GPO, ADSS, ADCS, DNS, DHCP, Entra ID, AAD Connect, RBAC, Intune, Azure App Proxy, Conditional Access and Microsoft Security Stack
- Strong analytical, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
