Research Engineer (Internship/Co-Op)

Crater is revolutionizing email management with their next-generation email client that leverages AI to predict user actions and reading preferences. As a Research Engineer Intern, you'll join a small, talent-dense team of less than 8 people working on cutting-edge email ranking algorithms and hybrid search improvements.

The role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with founders and technical leadership on either the "intuitive inbox" ranking algorithm or the Central RLHF loop on hybrid search. You'll be immersed in eval-driven development, experimentation, and testing in production environments. The internship is based in San Francisco's North Beach area, with comprehensive benefits including covered housing, transportation, and meals. The annualized compensation ranges from $120,000 to $150,000 (prorated for the 4-month duration).
