Description For Mission Support Engineer

Defense Unicorns is seeking a Mission Support Engineer to join their team in a remote position across the United States. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, focusing on managing Unicorn Delivery Service (UDS) deployments and customer training.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $147,175 - $190,000 USD and comes with comprehensive benefits including fully paid medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k, stock options, and unlimited PTO. The role requires US citizenship due to government contractor requirements.

As a Mission Support Engineer, you'll be responsible for providing technical support, managing deployments, creating training documentation, and conducting customer training sessions. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills in Kubernetes, containers, and cloud environments, combined with excellent communication abilities and customer service orientation.

Defense Unicorns specializes in delivering secure solutions for continuous software integration and delivery, serving defense and civil agencies across the U.S. government. The company focuses on streamlining software delivery while maintaining high security standards, working with cloud-native technologies and CNCF projects.

Key technologies you'll work with include Kubernetes, cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure), infrastructure-as-code, GitOps, and various CNCF projects. The role involves less than 25% travel and includes on-call support responsibilities.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to work at the intersection of DevOps, security, and customer success in the federal market space. You'll be part of a team that values innovation, continuous improvement, and maintains a strong focus on security and mission-critical solutions.

The company culture emphasizes work-life balance with generous time off policies, including mandatory 10 days off plus federal holidays and extended breaks during Thanksgiving and December. They also support professional growth through training reimbursement and conference attendance opportunities.

If you're passionate about DevOps, have a strong technical background, and want to make an impact in the federal technology space while working with cutting-edge cloud-native technologies, this role could be an excellent fit for you.
