Description For Mission Support Engineer

Defense Unicorns is seeking a Mission Support Engineer to join their team in a remote position across the United States. This role combines technical expertise with customer support, focusing on managing Unicorn Delivery Service (UDS) deployments and training customers on software tools.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $147,175 - $190,000 USD and comes with comprehensive benefits including fully paid medical/dental/vision premiums, 401k, stock options, and unlimited PTO. The role requires US citizenship due to government contractor requirements.

As a Mission Support Engineer, you'll be responsible for providing technical support, managing deployments, creating training documentation, and serving as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries. The role involves less than 25% travel and requires on-call support as needed.

Defense Unicorns specializes in delivering secure solutions for continuous software integration and delivery, working with defense and civil agencies across the U.S. government. The technology stack includes Kubernetes, cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure), infrastructure-as-code, and various CNCF projects.

Key technical requirements include experience with Kubernetes, Helm, containers, and full-stack development. The ideal candidate should have strong troubleshooting abilities, excellent communication skills, and understand continuous delivery principles. A DoD IAT Level 2 certification is required, and while a security clearance is preferred, it's not mandatory.

The company culture emphasizes innovation, continuous improvement, and a commitment to security and mission success. They offer extensive professional development opportunities, including conference attendance and training reimbursement, making it an excellent opportunity for those interested in the intersection of technology and government services.
