Description For Data Engineer, VX Analytics

Disney Streaming, a division of The Walt Disney Company, is seeking a talented Data Engineer to join their Viewer Experience Data Infrastructure & Analysis team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with premium streaming services including Hulu, ESPN+, and Disney+, contributing to the company's direct-to-consumer (DTC) experience.

As a Data Engineer at Disney Streaming, you'll be responsible for owning and developing critical Viewer Experience datasets that drive key KPIs and insights. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate data collection, gathering requirements, and building robust data infrastructure. You'll be working with big data technologies and creating performant data solutions that impact millions of users globally.

  • Lead the building of required infrastructure, design table structures, and define ETL strategy
  • Partner with software engineers, developers, product managers to ensure accurate data collection
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements
  • Perform root cause analysis for data related issues
  • Build proof-of-concept and cornerstone visualizations

Requirements For Data Engineer, VX Analytics

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in an analytical or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience with data pipelining, ELT/ETL, data architecture
  • 3+ years of experience using analytic SQL
  • Strong understanding of Data Modeling techniques
  • Experience with Python or other relevant programming language
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Process oriented with great documentation skills
