Description For Lead Software Engineer - Front End

Technology is at the heart of Disney's past, present, and future. Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is a global organization of engineers, product developers, designers, technologists, data scientists, and more – all working to build and advance the technological backbone for Disney's media business globally.

This is a hybrid position requiring four days per week in the Seattle office. As a Lead Software Engineer on the Event Hub team, you will be responsible for developing internal tooling to solve streaming data problems across departments. You'll be creating tools to centralize stream and schema discovery, manage data quality, and empower business teams to leverage collected data efficiently.

The role combines technical leadership with hands-on development, focusing on frontend development using modern frameworks like Svelte. You'll work closely with engineers, project managers, and product managers to design and implement solutions that serve Disney's streaming platforms including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, and ABC.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Leading technical design and implementation of internal tools and dashboards
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure excellent UX
  • Building sophisticated frontend applications using Svelte and other modern web technologies
