As a Media Engineer II, you'll be part of the Content Platforms & Operations team responsible for the development and ongoing advancement of the technical and operational functions driving the worldwide distribution and monetization of Disney's linear networks and theatrical content. This includes Disney's media supply chain and storage, network and theatrical distribution operations, media localization, network transmission and origination.

You'll work at the crossroads between hardware and software-based technology, requiring a comprehensive understanding of technology that powers the generation, monetization, and distribution of all forms of consumer-facing linear and digital video/audio content. You'll be primarily focused on the sustainability of existing technology, serving as tier 2 support where incidents are escalated from operations teams.

This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge broadcast technology, including IP-based equipment, studio technology, file-based workflows, and cloud infrastructure. Responsibilities For Media Engineer II- Overnight Shift

  • Respond to and resolve issues affecting production, broadcast, and content distribution
  • Analyze and troubleshoot streaming audio/video signals
  • Provide operational support for audio and video production systems
  • Perform system hardware and software workflow upgrades
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance on broadcast systems
  • Participate in complex engineering projects
  • Maintain system/workflow documentation

Requirements For Media Engineer II- Overnight Shift

Linux
  • 3+ years of experience in live media production and distribution environments
  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent
  • Proficient in SMPTE standards for broadcast television
  • Cloud certification required (Azure, AWS, or CompTIA)
  • Knowledge of compression techniques (MPEG2/4, HEVC, etc.)
  • Experience with Evertz software control systems
  • Knowledge of media systems and file-based workflows
  • Ability to create and interpret AutoCAD drawings
  • Physical requirements include ability to climb ladders and valid driver's license
