Job Description

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Product & Technology is seeking a Software Engineer I to join their Native Client Platform Foundation team. This role is an exciting opportunity to work at the core of Disney's technological infrastructure, building and maintaining the runtime systems that power cross-platform client applications across Disney's vast media portfolio.

The position involves working with low-level programming languages like C++ and Rust to develop what is essentially an operating system built to run on other operating systems. You'll be responsible for implementing crucial components such as memory management, network access, UI frameworks, and performance debugging tools that run across multiple devices.

As part of Disney's global organization of engineers and technologists, you'll be at the intersection of technology and creativity, helping to build world-class products that serve millions of users worldwide. The role offers exposure to major brands like Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, and ABC, providing an opportunity to impact how people interact with Disney's content globally.

The team environment emphasizes both independent work and collaboration, with opportunities to work alongside experienced engineers and contribute to cross-team projects. You'll be involved in designing and implementing solutions that shape industry norms and solve complex technical problems.

This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $99,900 to $133,900, plus additional benefits including medical coverage, bonus potential, and long-term incentives. Located in Seattle, WA, this role provides a hybrid work arrangement, offering flexibility while maintaining the benefits of in-person collaboration.

For someone starting their software engineering career, this role provides an exceptional opportunity to work on fundamental technology that powers one of the world's largest media companies, while developing expertise in systems programming and cross-platform development.
