Description For Software Engineer II - Site Reliability Engineer

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is at the forefront of reimagining how people experience and engage with the world's most beloved stories and products. The Product & Data Engineering team is responsible for end-to-end development for Disney's world-class consumer-facing products, including streaming platforms Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+.

The Hulu Discovery team builds systems that provide data at scale, implementing reliable, high-request services that deliver data powering the Hulu user experience across web, mobile, and living room devices. As a Software Engineer II in Site Reliability Engineering, you'll be instrumental in bridging the gap between development and operations by improving and maintaining deployment systems, observability, and testing platforms.

You'll join a dynamic team that builds and manages systems powering Hulu & Disney+ Streaming clients running on smart TVs, smartphones, gaming consoles, FireTV, Apple TV, Roku, and others. Your work will involve managing IaC templates, helping teams deploy changes quickly and safely, building observability for services, managing capacity across hundreds of services, and helping teams observe and manage service costs.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $114,900 to $168,700 depending on location and experience, plus comprehensive benefits including medical coverage, bonus opportunities, and long-term incentives. Responsibilities For Software Engineer II - Site Reliability Engineer

  • Improve and maintain CI/CD systems and process by designing and developing automation for build/test/deploy
  • Ensure the quality of services by improving and maintaining test automation platforms
  • Manage infrastructure as code and mentor teams
  • Ensure reliability by developing and maintaining observability systems and practices
  • Drive incident response, root cause analysis, and defect remediation
  • Establish systems for observing and managing cost across systems and services

  • Experience in a DevOps or SRE role
