Earthlinktele, a telecommunications company operating in Iraq, is seeking an Al-Watani Field Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Mosul. This role is crucial for providing technical support and guidance to field teams, ensuring the smooth operation of telecom infrastructure.
As an Al-Watani Field Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for resolving complex technical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating with various teams to maintain high-quality standards. You'll work with a wide range of equipment, from fiber optic cables to electrical systems, and be involved in site selection, acceptance, and rearrangement.
The ideal candidate should have a BSc. in a relevant engineering field and 1-3 years of experience in the telecom or ISP industry. Strong communication skills in both English and Arabic are essential, as you'll be interacting with diverse teams and contractors. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent interpersonal skills are also required.

Responsibilities For Al-Watani Field Maintenance Engineer
- Offer technical guidance and support to field technical teams
- Handle resolution of complex technical problems
- Assist in choosing materials, equipment and properties for mechanical analyses and repair
- Provide support to maintenance contractor teams
- Serve as primary on-site technical adviser during maintenance assignments
- Coordinate across teams and third parties to maintain quality standards
- Interpret and understand detailed engineering drawings
- Provide technical support for Cable Placement, Terminations and Splicing
- Perform preventive maintenance work
- Use precision testing equipment
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities
- Assist in site selection and rearrangement
- Perform site acceptance for new deployed locations
- Troubleshoot Network Failure and Outage
- Available 24x7 on-call for urgent cases
- Perform mechanical and/or fusion splicing of fiber optic cable
- Support disaster readiness and recovery efforts
- Maintain inventories of test equipment and transmitters
- Maintain EMS and access control systems
- Collect daily reports from QC team
Requirements For Al-Watani Field Maintenance Engineer
- BSc. in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Telecom Engineering or related
- 1-3 years' experience in Engineering, ISP or Telecom Maintenance Role
- Good Command of English and Arabic- Written and Spoken
- Good Command of Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent interpersonal skills; a team player who generates enthusiasm and builds effective working relationships
