Extropic, a company at the forefront of semiconductor hardware development, is seeking a Semiconductor Device Modeling Engineer to join their team in Boston. This role is perfect for a highly experienced professional with a PhD in device physics and a deep understanding of semiconductor device physics.

As a Semiconductor Device Modeling Engineer at Extropic, you will play a crucial role in accelerating the company's hardware development. Your extensive background in device process development and device modeling will be instrumental in pushing the boundaries of semiconductor technology.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and modeling semiconductor devices
  • Designing and executing complex device characterization test plans
  • Analyzing parametric test data and extracting device compact models
  • Developing advanced device model formulations and extraction algorithms
  • Performing multi-physics simulations for electromagnetic and electro-thermal analysis

The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in semiconductor CMOS process development, process integration, and manufacturing. You should have a deep understanding of semiconductor device physics, including the physical mechanisms that cause leakage currents and noise contributors. Your expertise should extend to various types of noise sources and mechanisms, including thermal, flicker, and shot noise.

Requirements For Semiconductor Device Modeling Engineer

Python
  • PhD in device physics
  • Experience in semiconductor CMOS process development, process integration and manufacturing
  • Experience in semiconductor device physics
  • Experience in characterizing and modeling semiconductor devices
  • Understanding of physical mechanisms causing leakage currents or noise contributors
  • Understanding of noise sources and mechanisms contributing to thermal, flicker and shot noise
  • Experience with design and layout of device modeling test structures
  • Experience with hardware and software for measurement and parameter extraction
  • Experience in device characterization test plans including static and pulsed I-V, C-V, CW and pulsed bias S-parameter, load/source-pull, and noise measurement
  • Experience in analysis of parametric test data, collection and analysis of modeling device data, extraction of device compact models
  • Experience in development of advanced device model formulations and model extraction algorithms
  • Experience with multi-physics simulations, especially for electromagnetic and electro-thermal analysis
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python
