Description For Platform Engineer

Fidelity Investments is seeking a Platform Engineer to join their Data Protection and Analytics Product Area Team within Enterprise Cyber Security. This role focuses on Data Security Posture Management for critical data assets, working to strengthen the organization's data protection capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in Systems, DevOps, or Platform Engineering, with strong expertise in cloud services (AWS/Azure) and container platforms. You'll be responsible for implementing and maintaining secure infrastructure, automating processes using Infrastructure as Code, and ensuring robust security practices.

Key responsibilities include delivering modern engineering solutions for data protection, promoting standardization through IaC practices, and implementing comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including Kubernetes, AWS/Azure cloud services, and various DevOps tools.

Responsibilities For Platform Engineer

  • Deliver modern engineering solutions for protecting critical data assets
  • Promote standardization and best practices by promoting IaC
  • Ensure security best practices and disaster recovery planning
  • Collaborate with multiple technology teams to implement monitoring
  • Enforce security best practices using IAM roles, RBAC
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide operational support

Requirements For Platform Engineer

Python
Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent technology discipline
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in Systems, DevOps, or Platform Engineering
  • Experiences configuring and deploying cloud services in AWS/Azure
  • Experienced in provisioning, configuring, and maintaining secure and scalable container platforms
  • Experienced in automating cluster creation using IaC tools
  • Experienced in DevOps including CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with scripting knowledge (Perl, Python)
  • Self-starter who can independently learn how systems work
