Description For Embedded Software Engineer

Join a groundbreaking Formula One racing team as they prepare to enter the FIA Formula One World Championship. This is an exceptional opportunity for an Embedded Software Engineer to be part of building a world-class racing operation from the ground up. Based at the new Silverstone Facility, you'll work within the Control Systems group, taking charge of car embedded software development and supporting systems.

The role combines cutting-edge automotive technology with the high-stakes world of Formula One racing. You'll be responsible for leading embedded software development, working with state-of-the-art tools and technologies including MATLAB Simulink, various communication protocols, and specialized F1 tools. The position offers the unique opportunity to directly impact the performance of an F1 car through your software expertise.

Responsibilities For Embedded Software Engineer

  • Lead the development of car embedded software, including requirements capture, specifications, implementation and testing
  • Contribute to software resource plans and release schedules
  • Contribute to the development of SIL, HIL and other test systems
  • Promote software development best practices
  • Mentor junior team members

Requirements For Embedded Software Engineer

  • Degree in Engineering or similar relevant discipline
  • Extensive experience in software development
  • Experience with MATLAB Simulink code generation for embedded systems
  • Proficiency with C/C++
  • Knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, Flexray, Ethernet)
  • Experience with calibration tools (CANalyzer, ETAS, F1 SECU tools)
  • Familiar with agile development methodologies
  • Strong project management and self-organization skills
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office suite
