Job Description
Fractional AI is seeking a Software Engineer to play a leading role in building and shipping AI applications for clients. You will ship LLM applications across multiple companies and use cases. The role involves designing and developing custom AI solutions, partnering with a high-caliber team across the full project lifecycle, and actively shaping the engineering and company culture. As a tech lead for customer projects, you will automate call centers with AI phone agents or build AI content moderation systems.
The tech stack is generally customer-dependent, but experience with foundational models and tools like Langchain/Langsmith, OpenPipe, Pinecone, and ChromaDB will be valuable. The team is composed of senior engineers working on high-impact projects in the San Francisco or NYC office, fostering team lunches and brainstorming.
Compensation ranges from $200K to $245K, with meaningful equity offered. This is an opportunity to learn applied AI and deliver real value to top companies within a profitable, engineering-first startup at the frontier of gen AI.

- Design and develop custom AI solutions tailored to the unique needs of our customers, ensuring seamless integration and scalability
- Partner with a high-caliber team across the full project lifestyle, from requirements gathering, to prototyping, system design, coding, testing, deployment, and support

Requirements
- Write exceptional code and deeply care about the craft of coding
- 8+ years of experience
- Strong proficiency across multiple programming languages
