GitLab is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join their team in a fully remote capacity. This role sits at the intersection of business teams, Data Analytics, and Data Engineering, focusing on building robust and efficient data models within the Enterprise Data Platform. The position offers an opportunity to work with a leading DevSecOps platform company that serves over 100,000 organizations.

The ideal candidate will bring 6+ years of data experience and will be responsible for managing critical aspects of the Enterprise Dimensional Model. They will work with various stakeholders across the organization, from Go To Market to Research & Development, while designing and implementing sophisticated data solutions using tools like dbt and Snowflake.

Responsibilities For Senior Analytics Engineer

  • Serve as the Directly Responsible Individual for major sections of the Enterprise Dimensional Model
  • Design, develop, and extend dbt code to extend the Enterprise Dimensional Model
  • Approve data model changes as a Data Team Reviewer
  • Provide data modeling expertise to all GitLab teams
  • Own one or more stakeholder relationship in Go To Market, Research & Development, or General & Administrative business functions
  • Serve as Data Model subject matter expert
  • Advocate for the Data Quality Program and Trusted Data
  • Guide Work Breakdown Sessions
  • Organize and Plan quarter-long development initiatives

Requirements For Senior Analytics Engineer

  • 6+ years in the Data space as an analyst, engineer, scientist, or equivalent
  • 2+ years managing the same data model system over time
  • Demonstrated experience leading 4 or more analytics projects
  • Experience designing and socializing Entity Relationship Diagrams
  • Experience working with multiple commercial data warehouses, ETL tools, and data visualization tools
  • Extensive experience in 2 or more major data subject areas
  • Ability to use GitLab
  • Ability to thrive in a fully remote organization
  • Self-motivated and self-managing, with task organizational skills
  • Great communication skills
