Global Payments, a leading payments technology company and S&P 500 member, is seeking a Mainframe Software Engineer to join their team in Columbus, GA. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a company that processes millions of financial transactions daily, serving over 3 million companies and 600 million cardholders worldwide.

The position involves working throughout the software development lifecycle, focusing on mainframe technologies including COBOL, IMS, and DB2. You'll be part of an Agile Scrum team, participating in the creation of new software products and maintaining existing systems. The role requires a hybrid work model with 2-3 days in office.

As a Mainframe Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, coding, debugging, and implementing applications with a broad understanding of various languages and architectures. You'll work with both front-end and back-end technologies, collaborate with business and technology teams, and participate in client-facing meetings.

The ideal candidate should have a BS in Computer Science or related field, with 0-2+ years of experience. Knowledge of mainframe technologies, particularly COBOL, IMS, and DB2, is required. Responsibilities For Mainframe Software Engineer I or Above

  • Participate in all phases of software development life cycle using Agile Scrum methodology
  • Design, create, and deliver moderately complex program specifications
  • Develop code using front and back end programming languages
  • Perform testing and validation requirements
  • Participate in client facing meetings and vendor partnership teams
  • Maintain project and system documentation
  • Participate in agile scrum ceremonies
  • Develop and implement solutions in an iterative, continuous fashion

Requirements For Mainframe Software Engineer I or Above

Java
Python
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business / Management Information Systems or related field
  • 0-2+ years Professional Experience in Coding, Designing, Developing and Analyzing Data
  • Knowledge of COBOL, IMS, & DB2 (Required for Level II & Above)
  • Experience with IBM Rational Tools (preferred)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must live locally to the Columbus, GA area
